Ongoing Rescue Efforts in Uttarakashi Tunnel: 41 trapped workers awaits Salvation on Day 17

In Uttarakhand's Uttarkashi, a portion under construction turned from Silkyara to Balakot canel on 12November, 2024, trapping 41 workers. The multiple agency led rescue efforts initial plan was to rescue workers through horizontal drilling with expertise of international tunnelling experts.Earlier on Friday the rescue operation to drill 60mt of Stitch was halted when auger machine bledes brokes. On Sunday, plasma & magna road cutter machines were bought in to cut auger blades.

Rescue operation angsing at silkyara site with work on multiple fronts in progress. Both vertical and manual drilling works steadily moving ahead at an almost similar pace in line with plan to rescue 41 trapped workers from top the hill and inside tunnel.
Rescuers complete 52 meter of drilling 'there will be a break through around 57 meter, says UK CM
Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said, "Almost- 52 meters has been done. It's expected that there will be a breakthrough around 57mt Earlier stred girdeas were found, this has reduce now. Right now, they are finding more of concerte, it is being cut with cutter. "
Adani group distances itself as rescue operation reaches day 17
Adani group has released a statement of denying any connection to collapse of tunnel. They have issued a strong calorification asserting its complete non involvement in tunnel collapse.
